BOARD MINUTES
October 2009
The scheduled board meeting for the Atlanta Woodturning Guild met with quorum in place and was called to order by the president Bob Greenberg at 5. 45pm 21 October 2009. A motion to accept the September minutes as written was presented and accepted unanimously. Treasury Report Doug Lichliter reported that the Guild has $2400.00 in the treasury and that 2010 dues are slowly beginning to be received.

A motion to accept the August meeting minutes as written was presented and accepted unanimously. ATLANTA WOODTURNERS GUILD BOARD MINUTES August 2009 The scheduled board meeting for the Atlanta Woodturners Guild met with a quorum in place and was called to order by the president Bob Greenberg at 5.40pm 19 August 2009 A motion to accept the July meeting minutes as written was accepted unanimously. Bob opened the meeting by announcing the Guild has a new Webmaster Dave Roselius and that the Guild now owns its own website which will continue in the same format as in the past. Our website domain will remain the same at www.atlantawoodturnersguild.org . Treasury Report Doug Lichliter reported that the Guild has $2500.00 in the treasury and remains very solvent.

July 2009 The scheduled board meeting for the Atlanta Woodturners Guild met with a quorum in place. The meeting was called to order by the president Bob Greenberg at 5.40pm 15 July 2009. A motion to accept the June 2009 board minutes as written was accepted unanimously. Treasury Report No report given this month
General Business There was general discussion on the best way to obtain better use of our web site by the membership. Usage is very low with very few members taking advantage of the information available on the site. Each month the “presidents message” to the membership is sent via blanket e-mail to Guild members. It was decided that Bob will post his monthly message on the web site and then send an e-mail to all members asking them to go to the web site to read it

Treasury Report No report given this month Program Chair Harvey Meyer announced that the demonstrator for the July meeting will be Bruce Bell from Australia.

It was announced that Ron Harvey has won the scholarship to attend the GAW Symposium in October this year. There was a general discussion on the subject of honorary membership in the Atlanta Woodturners Guild. Nick Cook as one of the founding members of the Guild is one of the best known woodturners in Georgia. His contribution to the craft of woodturning is well known and his efforts to support the craft are tireless. |
