Fellow Turners: It is very important that you mark your calendars for our next meeting which will be on Wednesday January 21, 7PM at Woodcraft. Our program Chairman, Harvey Meyer has once again gotten us an outstanding demonstrator for the evening. Mike Mahoney is flying in and doing a workshop at Highland Hardware and will be coming out to our club. What a treat. The meeting will be devoted almost exclusively to his demonstration.

BOARD MINUTES
December 17th 2008
The scheduled Board meeting for the Atlanta Woodturners Guild met as scheduled with a quorum in place, and was called to order by the President Mr. Bob Greenberg at 5.30pm December 17th 2008.
General Business
The President announced that the final $200.00 of the education grant from by A.A.W. has been received and deposited to the Guild account.
A general discussion was held in regard to non-members (guests) attending Guild meetings and how they should be converted to members and also how to limit their continued attendance as a guest and not be a member of the Guild. There was further discussion on limiting the amount of time spent on following up with guests in order to convert them to members.

Fellow turners, Just a few brief comments are in order. As expected the demonstration last Wednesday evening was just plain fun. The demonstrator, a delightful Englishman, had a different word for everything, a wonderful sense of humor and his skill level certainly made it look easy.
