ATLANTA WOODTURNERS GUILD 
BOARD MINUTES
February 2010
The scheduled board meeting for the Atlanta Woodturning Guild met with quorum in place and was called to order by the President Kurt Whitley at 5. 45pm 17 February 2010.
A motion to accept the January minutes as written was presented and accepted unanimously. There was no old business to discuss.
Treasury Report
Doug Lichliter reported that we have $3800.00 in the bank with 47 paid members for 2010. At the present time there are 10 unpaid members who will be allowed until 31 March to pay their dues. At which time if still unpaid they will be removed from the membership roster.
General Business
There was a general discussion on posting the Guild by-laws on the web site for all members to view. The general consensus was that the by-laws should be posted. This would allow updates to be inserted when proposed and approved by the membership and be viewed by all.
A motion was presented by Mike Peace
- That a current set of the Atlanta Woodturners Guild by-laws be posted on the web site.
The motion was seconded by Doug Lichliter placed to the vote and approved unanimously.
Webmaster Dave Roselius brought up the subject of his 21 January e-mail to the board discussing ideas for a general update of our web site. His update suggestions were as follows:
Reorganize the “pages menu” currently across the top of the web site to correspond with board member’s duties. This will create a framework for posting any new information in the future.
- The “Home” page remains the area for next month’s, this month’s and last month’s postings. Any posts to the “Home” page more than a month old are transferred to the individual web pages to be created as follows.
- The President and Vice President become owners of the “About Us” page.
- The Librarian would utilize the existing “AWG Library” page.
- The Membership coordinator would utilize the existing “Membership” page.
- A page would be added for Programs
- A page would be added for the Guild Secretary and Treasurer to share.
- A page would added to post monthly “Show ‘n Tell” photographs plus links to other recommended woodturning sites.
- The header pictures at the top of each page on the site would be updated to include the AWG logo.
There was a general discussion with Dave on his proposal and it was agreed that the updates would be a excellent way to improve our site and make it eminently more useful to the membership. Dave agreed to proceed with the updates as soon as possible.
There being no further business the President adjourned the meeting at 6.20pm.
