BOARD MINUTES
January 2010
The scheduled board meeting for the Atlanta Woodturning Guild met with quorum in place and was called to order by the president Kurt Whitley at 5. 45pm 20 January 2010.
A motion to accept the December minutes as written was presented and accepted unanimously.
General Business
A discussion took place on providing networking for the membership on the web site. If a member needed a service that another member may provide based on their individual profession or skill then they could be accessed through the web site. Several ideas were put forth but it was decided that web site networking should be strictly devoted to woodturning and related skills. However there was a general consensus that the membership list should be updated on a voluntary basis to include each member’s profession.
A motion was presented by Doug Lichliter
- To be included on the membership list an optional section for members to list their profession in ten words or less.
The motion was seconded by Bob Greenberg placed to the vote and passed unanimously.
The subject of show and tell photographs on the web site was discussed. Pictures can be posted on the site and Kurt agreed to announce at the general meeting that we need a volunteer who would be willing to take photographs of the show and tell items each month. The individual would then receive instructions on uploading to the site.
Archiving previous board minutes and other items was discussed. No consensus was reached on the amount of time minutes should be left on the site before removal. There were several other items that were raised in regard to revising our web site and it was decided to postpone this discussion until the next board meeting.
Bob Greenberg stated that he would take over the duties of the membership chair due to David Martin wishing to relinquish those duties.
The President then asked if there was any new business to be discussed. There being none he adjourned the meeting at 6.25pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Chris Burfield
Secretary
