Fellow Turners: Finally it seems that all the quirks are worked out and my computer is working better than new. I learned the hard way that If you don’t have a battery backup thingy in electrical storm territory, you can get in trouble real fast.
Just a few reminders.
- Our next meeting is Wednesday April 16th, 7 PM at the Woodcraft Store.
- This month Rebekah Quattlebaum will demonstrate pen making. It is not as easy as it looks and I encourage all to come as you will quickly learn to appreciate all the various skills needed to produce a fine writing instrument.
- The challenge for this month is a pair of chopsticks.
- The board has approved the awarding of one admission scholarship to the Georgia Association of Woodturners 2008 symposium at Unicoi State Park on September 19-21st. featuring instructors Jimmy Clewes, David Ellsworth and Bonnie Klein. The winner will have to pay for their own transportation and accommodations. To be considered for the award the applicant must submit a brief statement ( not to exceed 250 words ) setting forth how they will benefit from attending. Send your statement to me at rfgreenberg {at} bellsouth.net and I will forward them to the board for review. Statements must be received no later than May 10 so that the award can be presented at the May 21st meeting.
See you next week, Bob // Robert F.Greenberg, Club President
